Lekker maar erg weinig
Geweldig lekker gegeten!
Restaurant is eigenlijk qua stijl een uit de kluiten gewassen café. Veel bar plaatsen waar je op de bereiding kijkt. Hoge tafel aan de wand is klein, maar ok. Zag achteraf dat het een visrestaurant was. Dom natuurlijk, gezien de naam. Gerechten goed van smaak. Porties bescheiden. Wijn aan de prijs, v.a. ca 45 de fles, die was lekker, keuze wijn is zeer groot en interessant.
Vriendelijke ontvangst en op verzoek hoefden we niet schouder aan schouder met andere gasten aan de bar te zitten maar konden we aan een hoog tafeltje plaatsnemen. Er werd bij gezegd dat we om 20 uur echt weg moesten zijn, maar dat wisten we al, je kon immers in het kader van de restaurantweek alleen maar boeken voo...

Er werd bij gezegd dat we om 20 uur echt weg moesten zijn, maar dat wisten we al, je kon immers in het kader van de restaurantweek alleen maar boeken voor de vroege shift. We werden erdoor verrast dat er alleen maar barkrukken en niet al te comfortabele hoge stoelen zijn bij de enkele tafeltjes in deze smalle zaak. Het was een koude avond en het gordijn bij de veelvuldig opengaande deur was helaas noch dik noch sluitend. Er was geen wine pairing bij het menu, we lieten ons adviseren door de ober zonder de wijnkaart gezien te hebben. Dat kwam ons duur te staan: bij het afrekenen bleken de glazen witte wijnen €12 en €14 per glas te kosten. De wijn werd ijskoud geschonken, erg jammer. Met de wijnklimaatkast achter de bar moet dat makkelijk beter kunnen. Als je dan ook nog om de wijn moet vragen terwijl het hoofdgerecht al is geserveerd wil het niet goedkomen met de temperatuur. Het bolletje zuurdesembrood en de boter waren goed. De amuse van het huis was een half kopje vrij zoute en zure vissoep met harissa. Het menu bestond uit gerechten van de kaart. Het voorgerecht - twee bescheiden rolletjes zeebaarstartaar met heel dunne plakjes radijs en emulsies - vonden we niet heel boeiend. Het hoofdgerecht - Skrei met een lak van oester in een saus van daslook - was, afgezien van grote stukken halfrauwe sjalot, smakelijk. We misten groenten bij beide gerechten. In het dessert - rabarber met bloedsinaasappel, citroensorbet en sabayon - overheersten de zuren van van citrusfruit en proefden we helaas hoegenaamd geen rabarber. Voor ons gezien de reguliere prijs-kwaliteit verhouding en het ontbrekende comfort niet voor herhaling vatbaar.
Bistro de la Mer laat zien dat je op Michelin niveau kunt eten, gewoon op een houten kruk aan de bar, zonder dat het restaurant opgedirkt en chique is. Vanaf de bar heb je mooi zicht op alles wat er in de keuken plaatsvindt.
