Heerlijk gegeten, prachtige gerechten met mooie bijpassende wijnen. Keurig de saus bij het Kamper Lam aangepast i.v.m. allergie. Ook keurige bediening met goede uitleg. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Als vervend bezoeker van Fine Dining en Michelin restaurants waren we nu te gast bij Kaatje bij de Sluis. We hadden zin in een middag vol smaakexplosies en culinaire verwennerij. Helaas dat bleef uit.

Een vriendelijk ontvangst bracht ons in een zaal die nog de jaren 90 uitstraalde. Paarse muren paarse stoelen alles dicht en strak op elkaar in een zaal gevuld met kleine tafels weinig comfort en weinig ruimte rondom de tafels. Ramen die al in geen tijden gelapt waren en een vloerbedekking duidelijk uitgezocht op vlekken te verhullen. En een airco die veel lawaai maakte.

De bediening was nipt vriendelijk maar maakte veel basale fouten. Zo hingen ze over de tafel. Werd alles van één kant van de tafel ingezet. Het glaswerk de onderzetters etc. paste prima in stijl met de jaren 90 of ouder sfeer in het restaurant. De uitleg over het eten was een standaard passieloos riedeltje. De stap extra die we gewend zijn op dit niveau bleef uit. Meermaals zijn ons bij het menu extra’s aangeboden wat erg commercieel over kwam.

Ook het eten was een oprechte teleurstelling. Mooie smaakcombinaties bleven uit. De opmaak was summier en io borden zaten nog vlekken en saus spetters, zonde. Het eten was soms onaangenaam zout (zelfs de desserts) en of de sausen waren overheersend en niet aanvullend.
Voor een restaurant op dit niveau mag je meer verwachten. Je wil overdonderd worden met mooie creaties, fijne service een totaal beleving. Helaas…

Als kers op de taart bevatte de rekening ook nog fouten. Een niet Michelin waardig restaurant. Gemiste kans.
Waar we verwacht hadden te mogen eten op een hoog, professioneel niveau kwamen we terecht in een op hoog niveau amateuristisch werkend restaurant.

Was het een algemeen restaurant kon het er net mee door. Maar nu? Nee… teleurstelling. Ons advies, rij dit restaurant voorbij en zoek een plek waar je wel krijgt wat je mag verwachten.

Te druk per m2 , geen omschrijving bij wijn kaart,iedere keer dat ze langs liepen een wind vlaag, betalen voor water terwijl je 2 flessen wijn koopt van 55 euro , en extra aan bieding krijgt voor bij het gerecht extra betalen niet vermeld , weekend toeslag en dan zo druk wij hadden meer verwacht .

Restaurants are happy to take your dietary requirements into account. You can indicate this in the comments on the booking form.

6. Are drinks included in the menu price?

Drinks are not included in de menu price. Only, if its clearly stated in de deal description.

7. How can I change my reservation?

That's no problem! You can make changes by using the 'change' link in your confirmation mail or login into your account.

8. Is cancelling free of charge?

Yes, you can always cancel free of charge.

If you have paid a deposit, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation. Your deposit will then be automatically refunded to your account. Please note that if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, the restaurant will keep your deposit to cover the cost of the table.
