Het was mijn verjaardag, vrijdag 1 september! M’n partner had als cadeau Kaatje geboekt, met overnachting in de omgeving (we moeten 2 uur rijden vanuit Brabant), we hadden er zin in.

We hebben nog bewust gevraagd of we om 19.30 aan tafel konden ivm reis tijd, dat was geen probleem.

Het was mijn verjaardag, vrijdag 1 september! M’n partner had als cadeau Kaatje geboekt, met overnachting in de omgeving (we moeten 2 uur rijden vanuit Brabant), we hadden er zin in.

We hebben nog bewust gevraagd of we om 19.30 aan tafel konden ivm reis tijd, dat was geen probleem.

We werden boven neergezet, met nog 1 extra tafel. Beneden was de gezelligheid, de aankleding boven liet te wensen over, totaal geen sfeer. De bediening kwam alleen tijdens het hoognodige en de kok die telkens uit de keuken heen en weer liep, kent geen gedag denk ik. Zo jammer.

Zelf gecheckt of ze m’n garnalen allergie hadden gezien en daarna gevraagd om een ander glas daar zat aangekoekte spinazie aan, kan gebeuren. Excuus zou gepast zijn geweest. We hadden een menu zonder beperking en extra kaas. Aangeven dat ik interesse heb in kazen, werd niet op ingespeeld. Beneden konden gasten van de kaaswagen kiezen, wij hadden geen keuze.

Er is niet gevraagd of alles naar wens was, of het smaakt of we het naar de zin hadden. Bij het tweede wijnglas wat vies was nog geen excuus. Geen enkele interactie werd gezocht, zelfs niet bij in en uithalen van gerechten.

De jongeman deed z’n best, maar de sommelier deed haar taak zonder emotie. Zelfs toen we nog als tip gaven niet zo van de Franse wijnen te zijn, werd er stug door geschonken met jawel Franse wijn.

Einde van de avond aangegeven dat onze avond ver van prettig was beleefd, alleen de jongeman vond het vervelend. We hebben netjes betaald 435 euro maar het valt dan zo tegen dat er niet geluisterd word of de tips met een dankjewel ter harte wordt genomen. Zelfs dat niet.

De opmerking dat iemand nog zou bellen is niet nagekomen.

We gaan zelf meerdere keren per jaar naar dit type restaurants, maar nog nooit zo’n slechte ervaring gehad.

Ik werk zelf al jaren in de hospitality en dit raakt mij. We zijn nu 5 dagen verder en de emotie is er nog. Had even gebeld denk ik dan.

Komen we nog een keer naar Kaatje? Nee zeker niet…. Jammer

Heerlijk gegeten met vele smaken die perfect bij elkaar paste. Het bijpassende wijnarrangement vinden we erg prijzig. Vooral het verschil tussen halve en hele glazen was uit verhouding.

1. Do I need to pay upfront?

No, for most restaurants you don't have to pay upfront when you make a reservation.

During the National Restaurant Week you can enjoy a fantastic 3-course dinner at the best 600 restaurants in the Netherlands for only € 29.95 per person. The National Restaurant Week is organized twice a year, in the spring and in the fall.

5. I'm following a special diet, can this be taken into account?

Restaurants are happy to take your dietary requirements into account. You can indicate this in the comments on the booking form.

6. Are drinks included in the menu price?

Drinks are not included in de menu price. Only, if its clearly stated in de deal description.

7. How can I change my reservation?

That's no problem! You can make changes by using the 'change' link in your confirmation mail or login into your account.

8. Is cancelling free of charge?

Yes, you can always cancel free of charge.

If you have paid a deposit, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation. Your deposit will then be automatically refunded to your account. Please note that if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, the restaurant will keep your deposit to cover the cost of the table.
