Wat een top restaurant, de sfeer is fijn en het is gewoon genieten. Volle hoge smaken, mooie gerechten en niet te vergeten een vlotte bediening. De wijnkaart is heel toegankelijk met prima prijzen. De keuken heeft met alle gerechten van de 5-gangen lunch raak geschoten. De start met amuses was meteen raak, de krabsalade die volgde sloot daar prima op aan. De tartaar met vadouvan combineerde uitstekend. Heerlijk was de schelvis met zuring, daar zou ik zo een 2e portie van nemen. De polderhoen met laurierjus hoog van smaak en mooi zacht bereid. Afgesloten met een dessert waren wij bijna 4 uur verder. Maar daar hebben we niks van gemerkt! Een aanrader dus Celine

Wij waren hier in het kader van de restaurantweek voor de Gault Millau-lunch. Vanwege het weer konden we niet buiten zitten, zoals gepland. Na het parkeren op goed geluk naar links, waar ik eerst dacht dat we aan de achterdeur waren beland. Het was binnen nogal donker en de ontvangst duurde even. Wij bezetten de tweede tafel en het zou niet drukker worden die middag.
De amuses werden op schilderachtige wijze opgediend, maar gingen niet vergezeld van bordje of bestek, zodat ik een hapje moest ontleden met het botermesje en mijn tafelgenoot een hapje per vergissing op de placemat legde. De smaken waren goed.
Tussendoor een schelpdierensoepje en voor partner (vanwege allergie) een heel geslaagd selderijsoepje.
Er kwam brood van Menno bij en een olie van twee groene groenten.
Het voorgerecht bestond uit een tartaartje met wat frutsels en iets schuimigs waardoor voor mij de oersmaak teveel verhuld werd. Tafelgenoot was tevreden. De ober(sommelier?) had met verstand van zaken een lekkere wijn aangeraden.
Hoofdgerecht was zeebaars met een stevige saus, die weinig vissigs had. Erbij een bakje puree met sliertjes groente, schattig gedecoreerd met allemaal kleine witte korenbloembloempjes. Opnieuw vergezeld van een geadviseerde wijn die goed werd ontvangen.
Het dessert bestond uit lycheesorbet en een bolletje witte chocolade in de vorm van het coronavirus versierd met minuscule meringues. Leuk gevonden, maar eigenlijk vatte dit voor mij de lunch perfect samen.
Het servies was met zorg op elkaar afgestemd, de decoratie steeds prachtig (veelal met een pincet uitgevoerd), de porties waren goed van grootte, maar de smaken sprongen er niet uit.

Restaurant Céline is located in one of the last brick forts built 200 years ago. Located in the old Jutphaas on the fortress island and surrounded by nature, you will find yourself in an oasis of tranquility. From the highway you are within 5 minutes at our restaurant, there is also private parking for Celine's guests on the east side of the fort. As rugged and robust as the fort is on the outside, it is as refined and detailed inside at Restaurant Céline. Behind our stove is Rick Gresnigt, a chef with a quirky and creative take on food. Rick has gained his experience at renowned restaurants such as: Restaurant Lute, Restaurant de Hoefslag and Restaurant Simple. Since childhood our chef has been fascinated by food and everything to do with it. The flavors, colors and smells are infinite. Taste, creativity and unconditional hospitality come first for him. These are therefore the core values of his cuisine. The cooking style that he and his brigade put down is modern, headstrong and without rules, but with a lot of emotion and feeling. Good food is what it's all about and that's what we want to convey here. At the table is Amit Singh, a young Maître/Sommelier with a fresh outlook on gastronomy. Amit grew up in the hospitality industry and chose to continue his steps in fine dining. One of his most instructive courses was 'Gastronomic Sommelier' taught by taste professor Peter Klosse, for Amit a true icon in Dutch Gastronomy. Together with the rest of the team he ensures that every guest has an unforgettable evening, enjoying a good glass of wine combined with the high quality dishes from the kitchen. In 1959 the fort was transferred to the municipality and served as a wine fort where the barrels were bottled in the cellar. Many traces and antique machines of this were left behind which are proudly presented in the restaurant. The restaurant is located on the first floor of the fort in several "rooms" with a lounge, wine room and the kitchen. The cellar of the fort is the same size as the first floor where beautiful wine treasures can be found. We also have a terrace, located by the water and a beautiful oak tree. A wonderful place to enjoy a sumptuous dinner on a beautiful summer day.
