Really enjoyed my experience on a rare romantic date with my wife without the kids:) First of all, the place was QUIET without all the noise of most bars so we could actually enjoy the conversation. We really enjoyed the 4-course menu. Nothing over-the-top fancy, just the classics, cooked to near perfection. Flavourful seafood (excellent scallops), flavourful beef done just right with perfect pepper sauce. Hearty and enjoyable.
Some nice wines too in the selection we were treated to. The first one was passable and a bit too bland but the others made up for it and the Androphore Ratafia Champenois was a really cherry on the top, plus I have no idea how to try it elsewhere.
We had a great time and nice service added up to the experience. Thank you Riverside!
Gereserveerd via dinning city, maar reservering was niet goed doorgekomen. Eigenaar deed niet moeilijk en bedacht een mooie oplossing.
Daarna een heerlijk 5 gangendiner gehad, met schitterende gerechtjes. Een genot voor het oog, maar zeker ook voor je maag.
Als je bij dit restaurant geweest bent onthoud dan de weg, want dit is echt de moeite waard om vaker te gaan eten.

De naam van het restaurant is wat misleidend, want je hebt vanaf het restaurant over het algemeen geen zicht aan de rivier.

Restaurant The Riverside is located on a historic site in Maarssen. In 2021, the restaurant has undergone a complete metamorphosis. For example, it has been given a contemporary modern design where you can enjoy yourself in a relaxed atmosphere. The kitchen, led by chef Tom Vermeulen, has also been given a metamorphosis. The menu changes four times a year and is all about surprise. Perfectly composed flavor explosions where every bite should be a surprise. In short, a wonderful place for a nice lunch or dinner.
